Puzey Record Leads Sweep

   
Laie, HI—Thomas Rivers Puzey set a new Brigham Young University Hawaii
5K record as the Seasiders’ men’s cross country team swept the top
eight spots today at the
BYU–Hawaii Invitational on the Seasiders’ home course.  BYU–Hawaii totaled 15 points in the meet to outpace Chaminade handily.
   

   Puzey ran a time of 16:03 to break teammate Brendan McMaster’s
one-week-old school record by three seconds.  McMaster finished second
in 16:11, the third-best time in Seasider history.  Matthew Belliston
claimed third place for the Seasiders in 16:26, which is the tenth-best
time in school history.  Jonathan Hooke took fourth in 17:05 and Aaron
Noltemeyer placed fifth in 17:07 to round out the team scoring for
BYU–Hawaii.

   Other Seasiders to finish the race were Brandon Krout,
sixth in 17:15, Kawika Nahoolewa, seventh in 17:17, Thomas Jordan,
eighth in 17:18, Ryan Thomas, tenth in 18:04, and Michael Gulden, 11th
in 18:53.
   
   The Seasiders will be back in action again on October 11th at the Hawaii Pacific Invitational in Kaneohe at 4:00 pm HST.
