Men Finish Second
Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s cross country team
finished second today at the Chaminade Invitational on the Seasiders’
home course. BYU–Hawaii totaled 47 points in the meet to place behind
Hawaii Pacific’s 26 points.
Rivers Puzey ran a time of 25:52 over the course, which was
slightly shorter than an 8K, for the Seasiders to claim third place
individually. Matthew Belliston placed fifth for BYU–Hawaii with a
time of 26:04 and Jon Hooke also placed in the top ten at number eight
in 26:45. Other finishers for the Seasiders were Chad Kahoolewa, 12th
in 27:34, Brandon Kraut, 19th in 29:34, and Michael Gulden, 20th in
30:33.
Hawaii Pacific’s Andreas Schwab won the race in 25:40.
The Seasiders will be back in action again next Saturday in on the Big Island at the UH-Hilo Invitational at 7:30 am HST.
