Honolulu, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s soccer team got back on the winning track today with a 2-0 win over Chaminade on the road in a Pacific West Conference match. The Seasiders tallied once in each half as they improved to 6-2-1 for the season and 2-1-1 in the PacWest.
Freshman Dillon Richens took a pass from senior Eric Lowe and booted home his third goal of the year in the 38th minute to give the Seasiders the only goal they would need. Lowe added an insurance goal in the 87th minute on a penalty kick. It was his second goal of the season.
The Seasider defense held the Silverswords scoreless despite giving up 15 shots, 13 of them coming in the second half. BYU-Hawaii goalie Josiah Holtz came up with five saves for the shutout.
BYU–Hawaii will be in action again on Thursday against UH-Hilo in Hilo, Hawaii at 3:00 pm in a Pacific West Conference match.
