Laie, HI—Five Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s cross country runners were named to the Pacific West Conference Honor Roll today for their performances in last week’s BYU-Hawaii Invitational. Matt Belliston, Spencer Deavila, Nick Jones, Yuki Kitahara, and Justin Royer all earned the honors for the Seasiders for leading the team to a first-place finish at the meet.
Deavila, a junior from La Mirada, California, took second place overall at the meet by clocking a time of 26:58 on the 8K course. Belliston, a sophomore from Loveland, Ohio, took third place at the meet with a time of 27:00 while Jones, a junior from San Clemente, California, took fourth in 27:04. Royer, a junior from Mesa, Arizona claimed sixth place with a time of 27:40 and Kitahara, a freshman from Sagamihara, Japan, finished seventh in 27:44. It is the third honor this season for both Deavila and Belliston and the first honor for the other three.
