Seasiders Fall to Hot-Shooting Vulcans
Kealakekua, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s basketball team ran into a hot-shooting UH-Hilo squad tonight on the road that resulted in a 71-52 loss in a non-conference game. The host Vulcans shot 65 percent from the field for the game while holding the Seasiders to just 31.5 percent.
Mahina Gago scored 17 points off the bench to lead the Seasiders, who trailed at the half 37-21, and Madison Kite added 13 and five rebounds. BYU–Hawaii fell to 4-5 for the season with the loss.
Hina Kimitete scored 20 points to lead the Vulcans, now 3-7 for the year. Kayce Kirihara and Hotia Vaaimamao each scored ten points for UH-Hilo.
BYU–Hawaii will face West Texas A&M on December 30th at noon in Laie in another non-conference game.
