Ploeger Gets Player of the Week Honor

Laie, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii goalie Becky Ploeger was named the Pacific West Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the final week of the season.  She is the only Seasider to receive the award this past season despite the team’s second-place finish in the conference standings.

Ploeger posted a 3-0-0 mark during the final week of the season, recording shutouts vs. Hawai‘i Hilo (1-0) on Nov. 3 and Chaminade (4-0) on Nov. 5.  She also registered a 3-1 win at Hawai‘i Pacific on Nov. 7.  During her three victories, Ploeger boasted a 0.33 goals against average with eight saves and an .889 save percentage.  She allowed just one goal over 270 minutes of action during the week.

Ploeger finished the season with four school records, including shutouts (10), goals-against average (.47), save percentage (.843), and goalie wins (15).
