Seasiders Fall in 2OT
Kaneohe, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s soccer team came up just short in its last match of the season today, falling to Hawaii Pacific 2-1 in double overtime in a Pacific West Conference match. The Seasiders finish the season with an overall record of 8-9-1 and a 7-6-1 mark in the PacWest.
Hawaii Pacific scored the first goal of the game in the seventh minute on a score by Chance Bukoski. The Seasiders tied it at 1-1 in the 20th minute on an unassisted goal by Adam Maciejewski. Maciejewski, a senior playing his last game as a Seasider, scored his fifth goal of the season off a rebound off the Hawaii Pacific goalie.
The score remained tied through the rest of the opening period and was scoreless through the second half and the first ten-minute overtime. However, just 1:19 into the second overtime Kimo Komomua got the gamewinner for Hawaii Pacific off a crossing pass.
BYU–Hawaii goalie Cory Cosgrave kept the Seasiders in the game by saving ten shots on goal. The Seasiders were out-shot by the Sea Warriors 20-12 in the game.
