Seasiders Sink Argonauts Again
Laie, HI–The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s volleyball team defeated Notre Dame de Namur for the second night in a row tonight 25-23, 25-19, 24-26, 25-19 in a Pacific West Conference match. The Seasiders, now 11-10 for the season and 7-4 in the conference, moved back over the .500 mark for the first time since early in the season with the win.
Junior middle blocker Tanza Buroker knocked down 15 kills, hit .542, and put up six blocks to lead the Seasiders to the win. Losaline Faka’osi chipped in with 14 kills and 22 digs in the balanced BYU–Hawaii attack. Hannah Wilkinson and Ane Vea each finished with nine kills and Wilkinson added seven blocks. Tara Huckvale put up four blocks for the Seasiders and Nobuko Kotoyori and Camille Soto contributed 19 and 13 digs respectively. Lacey Laycock set for 25 assists and Soto notched 16 assists in the win.
Ashley Fox had 12 kills and Caitlin Torres ten to lead Notre Dame de Namur, now 8-17 for the season and 5-6 in the conference. Sharol Mae Kahawaii had 21 digs for the Argonauts in the loss.
BYU–Hawaii will face Academy of Art next on Tuesday night in a conference match at 7:30 pm HST in Laie.
