Seasiders Sweep Penguins
Laie, HI–The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s volleyball team defeated Dominican University of California tonight 25-18, 25-14, 25-17 in a Pacific West Conference match. The Seasiders out-hit the Penguins .330 to .087 in controlling the match and improving to 9-10 overall and 5-4 in the PacWest.
Sophomore outside hitter Losaline Faka’osi powered her way to 12 kills and a .300 percentage and also led all players with 16 digs to spark the Seasiders to the win. Freshman Kylee Nawahine added ten kills and senior Ane Vea smacked nine while hitting .500 as BYU–Hawaii cruised to the win.
Gabby Pecora had 11 kills to lead new PacWest member Dominican, now 4-16 for the season and 0-7 in the conference. LaShelle Rullan had 11 digs for the Penguins in the loss.
BYU–Hawaii’s next action will come on Friday night against Notre Dame de Namur in a conference match at 7:30 pm HST in Laie.
