Deavila Earns Second Honor

Laie, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Spencer DeAvila has been named the Pacific West Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season for his performance at the UH-Hilo Invitational this past weekend.  DeAvila took first place individually at the meet to lead the Seasiders to first place in the race.
   
DeAvila, a junior from Mesa, Arizona, ran a time of 20:45 over the 6K course and was one of four Seasiders to finish in the top ten.  BYU–Hawaii is currently ranked ninth in the West Region of NCAA II.  This is the third time this season a BYU–Hawaii runner has been honored by the PacWest.
