Agnell Second at Regionals
Pomona, CA—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s tennis season got off to a strong start this weekend at the ITA West Regionals as the Seasiders’ Agnel Peter took second place in the men’s singles portion of the tournament.
On Thursday, after receiving a first-round bye, Peter defeated Brian Kirby of Grand Canyon 6-2, 6-1 in the tournament’s second round. He followed that up on Friday with a 4-6, 6-1 (9) win over Salvador Romero of Cal Poly Pomona to advance to the semifinals. Peter scored a 6-2, 2-6, (8) victory over Jake Fellow of UC San Diego in the semifinals before falling in the championship match to Conner Olson of Sonoma State, 6-3, 6-2.
