Seasiders Sweep
Waipio, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii's women’s cross country team, ranked tenth in the West Region, swept the top five places today at the Chaminade Invitational to score a perfect 15 in winning their third meet of the season.
Lacey Krout topped the Seasider contingent with a first place finish in a time of 19:20 over the 5K course at Central Oahu Regional Park. Katherine Buxton placed second in 19:22, Allison Shamrell took third in 19:29, Lacee Kurtz was fourth in 19:42, and Danielle Anderson claimed fifth in 19:49.
Also completing the race for the Seasiders were Kelsey Elder, 10th in 20:22, Eden Lake, 13th in 20:44, Samantha Peavler, 16th in 21:13, and Devin Neff, 21st in 22:09.
Hawaii Pacific took second in the team scoring with 51 points, followed by UH-Hilo with 84, UH-Manoa with 109, and Chaminade with not enough runners to qualify.
BYU–Hawaii’s next action will come at the UH-Hilo Invitational in Hilo on October 10th at 9:00 am HST.
