McMaster Honored by PacWest
Laie, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Brendan McMaster has been named the Pacific West Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for his performance at the Hawaii Pacific Invitational this past weekend. McMaster took first place individually and set a new Brigham Young University Hawaii 8K record as the Seasiders finished third in the meet.
McMaster, a senior from Tempe, Arizona, ran a time of 24:52 to break the old record by 33 seconds. He broke the record previously held by Jeremy Van Tress, who ran a 25:25 8K at the Willamette Invitational on September 30, 2006 for BYU–Hawaii.
