Taylor Gets Academic Honor
Laie, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s tennis player Carlton Taylor has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Men’s At-Large Team for District VIII, which comprises most of the Western United States. The At-Large team contains athletes from several different sports, including tennis, water polo, ice hockey, rifle, fencing, lacrosse, gymnastics, golf, swimming, volleyball, skiing, and wrestling.
Taylor, a sophomore from Pleasant Grove, Utah, is a biology major with a 3.98 grade point average. This season he helped the Seasiders attain a 16-5 record, a ranking of 28th nationally, and a trip to the NCAA II National Championships. Taylor finished the season with a 13-2 singles record and a 12-6 mark in doubles play.
