BYUH Still Atop Regional Poll

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s basketball team held fast to the top spot in the NCAA II West Regional poll released today by the NCAA.  The Seasiders, 15-1 for the season and ranked fourth nationally in the coach’s poll, are undefeated at 9-0 in the West Region, although this week’s win against Dixie State was not included in the records used for the voting.  The regional poll ultimately determines which teams make the post-season and where the regional tournament will be played.  The top eight teams in the region at the end of the season will get invitations to the regional and the host team will be the highest ranked team that puts in an acceptable bid to host the tournament.

The Seasiders, off to the best start in school history, will face Grand Canyon tomorrow night in Laie in a Pacific West Conference matchup set to begin at 7:30 pm.
