Seasiders Remain Fourth
Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s basketball team held firm to the number four position in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II poll today. The Seasiders, winners of 12 straight games and 15-1 overall, received 177 points in the poll to set a new high for the school in the voting. The Seasiders reached the nation’s fourth spot last week to mark the highest NCAA II ranking ever for the program.
BYU–Hawaii stands in first place in the Pacific West Conference with a 6-0 conference mark. They are also ranked first in the NCAA II West Regional rankings. The team also continues to make its mark in the national statistical rankings. The Seasiders lead the nation in field goal percentage at 52.8 percent and in rebound margin at 11.3 per game. BYU–Hawaii is also third in winning percentage (93.3), fourth in scoring (89.9), fifth in assists per game (20.1), and seventh in three-point percentage (41.1).
BYU–Hawaii will face Grand Canyon on Thursday night in Laie in a Pacific West Conference matchup set to begin at 7:30 pm.
