Seasiders Top Regional Poll

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s basketball team holds down the top spot in the first NCAA II West Regional poll of the season, released today by the NCAA.  The Seasiders, 13-1 for the season and ranked fourth nationally in the coach’s poll, are undefeated at 7-0 in the West Region.  The regional poll ultimately determines which teams make the post-season and where the regional tournament will be played.  The top eight teams in the region at the end of the season will get invitations to the regional and the host team will be the highest ranked team that puts in an acceptable bid to host the tournament.

The Seasiders, who have matched the best start in school history with the 13-1 mark, will face Chaminade, currently ranked tenth in the region, on Thursday night in Laie in a Pacific West Conference matchup set to begin at 7:30 pm.  The game will be shown live on OC16.
