BYUH Fourth
Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s basketball team climbed another spot in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II poll today, moving up to number four. The move gives the Seasiders the highest ranking in school history in Division II play, surpassing last week’s number five ranking. The Seasiders made the jump upwards despite dropping four points in the poll from last week’s record-setting 167.
The Seasiders, who have matched the best start in school history with a 13-1 mark, won twice last week and also won last night in a game that could not be considered for the poll. They also continue to lead the nation in field goal percentage at 52.7 percent in the latest statistical report. However, after last night’s win the Seasiders improved their season field goal percentage to 52.9 percent.
BYU–Hawaii will face Chaminade on Thursday night in Laie in a Pacific West Conference matchup set to begin at 7:30 pm. The game will be shown live on OC16.
