Alves is Player of the Week

Laie, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii junior forward Lucas Alves has been named the Pacific West Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season.  Alves led the eighth-ranked Seasiders to a pair of conference wins this past week to earn the award.

Alves, from Casa Branca, Brazil, averaged 23 points per game and 7.5 rebounds in the two games while shooting 18-27 (66.7 percent) from the field.  He also shot the same percentage (4-6) from beyond the three-point line as the Seasiders improved to 4-0 in conference play.
