Seasiders Sixth
Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s basketball team continued its climb up the national rankings by moving up two spots to number six in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II poll this week to establish another new high for the team. Last week the Seasiders reached the school’s highest ever NCAA ranking, at number eight, so this week’s ranking sets a new milestone for the school. BYU–Hawaii moved to NCAA II at the beginning of the 1998-99 season.
The Seasiders, who were idle last week for the second week in a row and are 3-0 for the season, get back into action this week with a trio of games. BYU–Hawaii will face Washburn (KS) on Wednesday in Honolulu at McKinley High School at 8:30 pm as part of the Hoop ‘N Surf Tournament. On Thursday the Seasiders play Drury (MO), who was ranked as high as 18th nationally earlier in the year, at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu at 2:00 pm and then face Menlo (CA) at home on Saturday at 7:30 pm in the Cannon Center.
