Surprise, AZ—The third-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team fell one match short today as they fell 5-2 in the finals of the NCAA II Tournament to defending champion Armstrong Atlantic State. The Seasiders took one of the three doubles matches and won at the top singles slot as they completed the season 30-2.

The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches and won at each of the top two singles slots to improve to 28-1 for the season and advance to tomorrow’s quarterfinals.
Seasiders Defeat Third-Ranked Hawaii Pacific for PacWest Crown
Waipio, HI—The fourth-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team won the Pacific West Conference championship and extracted a measure of revenge today by defeating third-ranked Hawaii Pacific 5-0 in the championship match of the Pacific West Conference Tournament. The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches and won at each of the top two singles slots to improve to 27-1 for the season and avenge their only loss of the year.

Waipio, HI—The fourth-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team defeated 13th-ranked Grand Canyon today 5-1 in the semifinals of the Pacific West Conference Tournament to improve to 26-1 for the season. The Seasiders took all three doubles matches and two singles matches before play was halted.
BYUH Defeats Academy of Art to Open PacWest Tournament

The Seasiders took all three doubles matches and two quick singles matches before play was halted.

Laie, HI—The fourth-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team defeated 38th-ranked Academy of Art today 5-1 to improve to 24-1 for the season. The Seasiders took two of the three doubles matches and the top three singles matches before play was halted.
Laie, HI—The fourth-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team defeated 13th-ranked Grand Canyon today 6-0 to improve to 23-1 for the season. The Seasiders won all six singles matches to secure the victory as the doubles matches were not played.

The Seasiders lost just two games in sweeping the three doubles matches and just three games in the six singles matches as they dominated the Silverswords.
Seasiders Top Ninth-Ranked West Florida
Pensacola, FL—The fourth-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team defeated ninth-ranked West Florida today 5-1 to conclude its road trip to the Southeast and improve to 21-1 for the season. The Seasiders took two of the three doubles matches and picked up three straight set wins in singles to secure the victory.
Pensacola, FL—The fourth-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team defeated Concordia (NY) today 8-0 on its road trip to the Southeast to improve to 20-1 for the season. The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches handily and had little trouble in winning the five singles matches that were played.

Montevallo, AL—The fourth-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team defeated Montevallo today 9-0 on its road trip to the Southeast to improve to 18-1 for the season. The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches easily and had little trouble in winning the six singles matches.
Columbus, GA—The second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team defeated sixth-ranked Columbus State today 5-4 on its road trip to the Southeast to improve to 17-1 for the season. The Seasiders took two of the three doubles matches and split the six singles matches to come away with a hard-fought win.
Morrow, GA—The second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team swept a pair of opponents today on its road trip to the Southeast to improve to 16-1 for the season. The Seasiders swept both Clark Atlanta and 50th-ranked Clayton State by identical 5-0 scores by taking all three doubles matches and two singles matches against each team. For the sake of time the other singles matches were not completed in either match.
Seasiders Overcome Jet Lag to Defeat Erskine
Due West, SC—Despite having played two matches yesterday and then flying across the ocean and the nation overnight, the second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team overcame fatigue and jet-lag to defeat Erskine College 9-0 today to improve to 14-1 for the season. The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches handily and took all six singles matches in straight sets.
Seasiders Defeat Vulcans Twice
Laie, HI—The second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team defeated UH-Hilo twice today to improve to 13-1 for the season. The Seasiders won the first match of the day 9-0 and then took the second match by a score of 8-1.
Laie, HI—The second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team defeated Brigham Young University Provo 6-3 today to improve to 11-1 for the season. The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches and then took three of the six singles matches for the win over their much larger Division I sister school.
Waipio, HI—The second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team defeated Chaminade 9-0 today to improve to 10-1 for the season. The Seasiders lost just three games in sweeping the three doubles matches and won all six singles matches by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Laie, HI—The second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team was upset by fifth-ranked Hawaii Pacific 5-4 today to drop to 9-1 for the season. The Seasiders won two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead in singles play but won only two of the six singles matches as Hawaii Pacific (4-0) pulled off the upset.
Kona, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team defeated UH-Hilo 9-0 today to improve to 7-0 for the season. The Seasiders dominated the match, nearly shutting out the entire Vulcan team as the Seasiders dropped just two games at number two doubles.

Porter Reaches Milestone 1,200 Wins
Glendale, AZ—Brigham Young University Hawaii tennis coach Dave Porter picked up his 1,200 win as coach today as the Seasider women’s tennis team defeated Cal State-LA 9-0 and UC San Diego 7-0 to improve to 7-0 for the season. The wins give Porter 594 wins as coach of the women’s team and 606 as men’s coach for the milestone of 1,200 career wins.
Seasiders Sweep Pair of Matches
Glendale, AZ—The second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team swept both Dominican and Dixie State 9-0 today to improve to 5-0 for the season. The Seasiders Dominican with only one closely played set, at number six singles, and blitzed Dixie State by wide margins in every match.
Seasiders Dominate #14 Grand Canyon
Glendale, AZ—The second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team defeated 14th-ranked Grand Canyon today 9-0 to improve to 3-0 for the season. The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches despite a close contest at the number one spot and then picked up straight set wins in each of the singles matches.
Scottsdale, AZ—The second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii’s women’s tennis team began an early season road trip with a 9-0 win over Arizona Christian today. The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches handily and then picked up straight set wins in each of the singles matches.
Hwang Wins Title, Then Honors Sabbath
Mobile, AL—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Annie Hwang won the NCAA II singles championship at the USTA/ITA Small College Tournament today but Hwang and doubles partner Sherry Liu fell just short of the doubles title, losing in the NCAA II championship match. Hwang then withdrew from the Small College Singles Championships to keep from having to play on Sunday.
Hwang, Liu Win West Regional Titles
Los Angeles, CA—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Annie Hwang and Sherry Liu won the doubles championship at the USTA/ITA West Regional Tournament today and Hwang brought home the singles title. The Seasiders swept their way to the titles over the course of three days at the tournament and will now move on to the Small College Championships in Mobile, Alabama on October 11-14.
