Glendale, AZ—The 27th-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s tennis team claimed a pair of wins today, defeating Cal Poly Pomona 8-1 early in the day and then shutting out Montana State-Billings 9-0 in the evening. The Seasiders completed their season-opening visit to Arizona with a record of 4-1.

The Seasiders, playing a man short, had to default one singles and one doubles match to start off and then failed to win either of the contested doubles matches to fall to 1-1 for the season.

The Seasiders, playing a man short, defaulted in one singles and one doubles match but every match that was actually played to open the season at 1-0.

Laie, HI—A Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s tennis team from the past is set to visit the school’s Laie campus this coming week for a reunion with longtime Seasider Coach Dave Porter. Many of the players from the 1991 team that finished second nationally in NAIA play will return to Laie Thanksgiving weekend for a reunion that will include tennis, golf, and a Seasider basketball game. Pomona, CA—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s tennis season got off to a strong start this weekend at the ITA West Regionals as the Seasiders’ Agnel Peter took second place in the men’s singles portion of the tournament. |
