Seasiders Finish Tenth at Regionals San Francisco, CA—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s cross country team finished in tenth place today at the NCAA II West Regional Championships held at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. The Seasiders finished with 303 points in the 10K race. The Seasiders finished with 51 points to trail Academy of Art and its bevy of Kenyan runners by 31 points. Laie, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Spencer Deavila has been named the Pacific West Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the third time this season and second week in a row for his performance at the BYU–Hawaii Invitational this past weekend. Deavila took first place individually at the meet and clocked the second-fastest time for an 8K in school history as he led the Seasiders to a first place finish. Seasiders Earn First-Place Tie Waipio, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s cross country team tied Hawaii Pacific for first place today at the Chaminade Invitational at Central Oahu Regional Park. Both schools finished with 35 points in the four-team competition. Laie, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Brendan McMaster has been named the Pacific West Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for his performance at the Hawaii Pacific Invitational this past weekend. McMaster took first place individually and set a new Brigham Young University Hawaii 8K record as the Seasiders finished third in the meet. Kualoa Ranch, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Brendan McMaster set a new school record in men’s cross country today as he took the individual crown at the Hawaii Pacific Invitational. McMaster covered the 8K course in a blistering 24:52 to shave 33 seconds off the old school record and lead the Seasiders to a third-place finish at the six-team meet.
