All-Academic Team Award for Men's Cross Country Team

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s cross country team has
been honored as an All-Academic Team by U.S. Track & Field and
Cross Country Coaches Association.  The Seasiders received the honor
for the second year in a row and are one of only two Pacific West
Conference teams to be honored by the coaches association.

 

Puzey Gets Academic Honor

Laie, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Thomas Rivers Puzey has been named
to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association
Cross Country All-Academic list.  Puzey, an All-Pacific West Conference
performer from Hermiston, Oregon, finished 30th in the NCAA II West
Regional Championships last fall for the Seasiders.

 

Seasiders Twelfth in Region

La Jolla, CA—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s cross country team wrapped up the season with a 12th-place finish at the NCAA II West Regional meet today
in California.  The Seasiders scored 308 points to edge out fellow
PacWest member UH-Hilo by four points.

 

BYUH Takes Second

   
Turtle Bay, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s cross country
team took second place today at the Hawaiian Airlines Pacific West
Conference Championships.  The Seasiders finished with 49 points on the
8K course at Turtle Bay amidst the rain and mud to finish 17 points
behind conference champion Hawaii Pacific.

 

Seasiders Third

   
Kaneohe, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s cross country
team finished in third place today at the Hawaii Pacific Invitational. 
The Seasiders scored 82 points to finish behind Division I Xavier’s 23
and Hawaii Pacific’s 65 points.

 

Puzey Gets Honor

   
Laie, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Thomas Rivers Puzey has been
named the Pacific West Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the
Week for his performance at the BYU–Hawaii Invitational this past
weekend.  Puzey took first place individually and set a new Brigham
Young University Hawaii 5K record as the Seasiders’ men’s cross country
team swept the meet against Chaminade with a perfect team score of 15.

 

Puzey Record Leads Sweep

   
Laie, HI—Thomas Rivers Puzey set a new Brigham Young University Hawaii
5K record as the Seasiders’ men’s cross country team swept the top
eight spots today at the
BYU–Hawaii Invitational on the Seasiders’ home course.  BYU–Hawaii totaled 15 points in the meet to outpace Chaminade handily.

 

McMaster Sets Another Mark

   
Kaneohe, HI—For the second straight week, Brigham Young University
Hawaii junior Brendan McMaster set a new men’s cross country record. 
McMaster, running just his second race as a Seasider, led the team to a
fourth-place finish at the seven-team UH Big Wave Invitational in
Kaneohe today.  The Seasiders tallied 107 points to finish well behind
team winner UCLA’s perfect 15 score.

 

McMaster Sets Record

   
Hilo, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s cross country team
finished second again today at the UH-Hilo Invitational on the Big
Island.  BYU–Hawaii finished with 48 points in the 6K meet to place
behind Hawaii Pacific’s 18 points.

 

Men Finish Second

   
Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s cross country team
finished second today at the Chaminade Invitational on the Seasiders’
home course.  BYU–Hawaii totaled 47 points in the meet to place behind
Hawaii Pacific’s 26 points.
